Ok here's the deal. My car is a 1998 GTP and when I plug the gauge in the OB2 port and turn the key on it powers up fine. But when you turn the key off and turn it back on it will not power back up. You have to unplug it and plug it back in for it to work. Any advice could help......... Thanks guys

It gets power through the OBD. You might want to run power to the four wire lead. It wont hurt to have two power sources.

2000 GTP. I had to run auxiliary keyed power. I used the power drop behind the glove box.

Dang! I just installed mine this weekend and thought I might finally be able to offer some useful advise. Lol, oh well. but I did also connect a switched 12V to the gauge using the power drop. I was expecting a simple plug n play with the OBD II connector, but when reading the instructions mine stated that 96-03 Pontiacs should connect to a switched 12 power source.
