So I ordered KYB struts, mount kit & boot and went with Moog coil springs. I plan on doing a complete swap not using any of the old parts from old suspension. I didnt realize at the time of ordering that the strut mount kit did not come with the lower coil insulator so I just ordered them tonight from rockauto because AutoZone is way over priced... $10ea on rockauto for KYB insulator and $20ea at AutoZone. So while i'm waiting I figured I would get all the parts in order minus the coil spring. Im a little confused on were these 2 parts go and not sure if they are in the correct order so if any of you guys know if its in right order or not let me know! I got a small instruction paper but it doesn't show where all parts go...

    Heres the pics!

Why I am asking is because the order I have it in, I can put the top bolt on because not enough thread is showing.

I know I will need a spring compressor but I thought maybe I had the parts in the wrong order, I take it they are in right order?

You need to look at the struts currently on your car.

Those two pieces don't go together at all.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

On my gp it only shows that flat piece that is in the picture. If you look at that thread that was posted it shows the bowl piece and then in another picture i t shows a flat piece on the top of the strut.

That bowl snaps over the top of the bump stop, bowl side down.

EDIT: Keeps the strut bearing or mount from rubbing the foam bump stop.

The guy that used it in this link, http://www.gpona.com/forums/step-by-...-s-t12932.html, SHOULDN'T have used that piece. IIRC that bowl piece is for another vehicle like the Pontiac Aztek or Pontiac Montana and those vehicles use the same strut mounts as Grand Prixs. The manufacturer just threw that piece in there for which ever vehicle uses it.

Haven't assembled yet but I plan on taking them in to have put together. I had a 30+ year mechanic try to compress my springs and that didnt go so well so im just going to have Mazza do it for a pretty decent price.

I got set of locking spring compressors from amazon that worked absolutely beautifully. They feel like they could last 50 years. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Update.... had mazza autoparts assemble them for me. I installed the struts, lca's and tie rod ends on Saturday. Before I did all that though, I took my car to belletire aftet "discount tire" would not price match the tires I wanted. Goodyear integrity regular price $95ea and wal mart had them for $69ea so it was a steal, 5 star to belletire! Just wanna say that all of it was a HUGE improvement in my driving. No more clunking im front, no more steering wheel shaking when im turning or just driving period. Bad news now is that im hearing clunking noises in the back lol.... They also did a 4 way alligment for free and I did suspension after so I will be going back this week for front again.
