Have a 97 GTP with fp rewire, fuel pump died (haven't driven in a long time). So I ordered just the pump from ebay, hooked everything up, drained old gas and filled with fresh fuel, and new ac delco pump is dead (verified power to pump at key on w/multimeter). Pulled the whole fp/canister from my '98 SE 3.8, car will start up and run for a few seconds then die. I wasn't aware of any reason a GTP wouldn't run with a GT/SE fuel pump, or am I missing something here? I realize it won't put out the psi needed under boost, but I was just trying to get the car to my new house. Any insight would be appreciated, plan to supercharge my '99 GT in the near future (which also needs a fuel pump atm) so i'd like to order a GTP pump/canister for it. Thanks in advance, guys.

sounds like the resistor took a crap. try this.

Have that one bent out (did it before the rewire), but not sure it makes a difference anymore with the zzp fp rewire. Holding the throttle down would keep it running a bit longer, but died no matter what within maybe 10 seconds.

long shot, but try unplugging the maf sensor, then try to start it.

Well she's in storage right now, mainly wanted to verify there was no reason a GT and GTP fuel pump shouldn't be interchangeable.

only way to tell is if you search both parts, see if the part #'s match.

Sounds like similar to what my car was doing. New maf sensor fixed it.

Anybody run a GTP fuel pump in their boosted GT? My last top swapped 97 GT I did a higher flowing walbro pump in the stock canister, would die at 1/4 tank since it wasn't picking up fuel when it got that low. With my 99, I'd like to stick a new 99 GTP canister in and call it good, but I've never mixed up pumps like that to verify the compatibility. Might have to email zzp.
