I say get it smoke tested...that'll find the leak so you don't spend money unnecessarily.

I went to buy the part from the dealership, actually it was cheaper then what I was quoted at another part place. He said I can return the item if I don't installed it, I also went to my local garage to see if they can do a smoke test and he said the the most common issue is the value, so when we do the smoke test we replaced the value. He said if you dont see anything that came apart then its the value same-thing what you guys mentioned. Im going to take a good look at it on Sunday and if I dont see anything loose then I will change the valve and go from there.

Well I took a good look at the hose and seems fine to me, I ended up replacing the vent value on Saturday and the engine light has not came back since. Will keep on eye on it and see if it does but thanks for helping out

I also have the P0455 check gas cap code. tried a couple different gas caps and none seem to fit tight? not sure if it doesnt seal right or its for every grand prix.

Well it's been over a week and no engine light so pretty sure my problem is fixed. Itzharrison my mechanic said it's a very common issue the P0455 error and 95% of the time it's the vent value. If you but the part from the dealer you will need a harness for the new adapter, not sure why they change the adapter on the newer parts
