My question is how did it do in the turns an what suspension setup
With my list of mods an the sd headers ihave coming is a 3.4 the best choice?
Stock gtp suspension is great... the best trick you can do is try to get some bilstines on there off a gxp. The key to autocrossi g is desgining your car for the slowest class you can... commonly you will find running in a stock class with every possible mod you can do is easier than running in a modded class with only a few of the allowed mods.
Hands down the best mod you can ever do is tires. Get slicks (hankook c71 is the most popular) and run the most mods you c can for the lowest class that allows slicks. If you want to stay on a street tire get as wide of a autox tire you can... r615k direzza z1* or zii. Toyo ra1. Among others in the 200 treadwear catagory.
lol
*now you see here tires are what wins a race....*
*hell he can drive beyond the limits of the car the tires and anything else, hell if the sunova b1tch would listen to me we'd hardley ever lose a race!*
daysofthunder.......
Haha
Talk to this guy, he seems to do pretty good.

James what problems have you had? Hstock is hardly a competitive class and a real tricked out gtp in esp on good tires would have no issue getting first at any of the events I go to. If you threw some c71s on a stock gtp and went to hstock you would have to be a horrid driver to not get first.
This is the thread I've made. Might help you out. I'll keep updating it as things are done too.

Well I'll chime in and say start with some good rims and tires, I run Dunlop Dirreza Zii star spec tires on Mustang 17x8 rims P245/45zr17. Very good feedback from them and you can push them to the limit. It all depends on your budget as to what you'll be able to afford, 12" Z28 front brake will work great with some high end brake pads, I run Carbotech but they are not cheap, for yours I'd run them with Hawk HPS compound but they will dust. Let me know if tou have any specific questions
Thanks for all replys an help you have all gave me So far. Yea im doing a fairly cheap build not looking to dominate the compition just go out an have some fun with other buddies that run autocross races an hill climbs. Im keeping the car street legal also to drive to the events. As of right now i have 17x7 wheels with 215/55/17s would you suggest a lil wider tire an lower profile. Im prolly gonna get napa or kyb quick strut assy with some cheap ebay lowering springs. I have poly sway bar links an will be ordering zzps poly bushings along with the poly motor mount inserts.
i would like to do the seperate trans cooler like you did an possibly add a fan to it?? The car is stripped of all interior except dash driver seat an center console. I would like to post pics but still cant
Im in Franklinton nc about 6 hrs from that event
Ok so autocrossing isnt what im doin its actually chump car racing/ leMans racing. So after some thinkin an rackin of the brain i decided the prix wasnt the best option so i went an picked up a 87 honda accord lxi 5speed. The car is perfect for it i gave 500 for it. It runs an drives does need suspension an motor work. The motor needs some gaskets an most importantly either rod or crank bearings. I do beleive i can replace both of those an never have to pull the motor.
