Looking into picking up a 04 Comp-G. Car has 123k miles on it. And it's rusted a bit around the rear wheel wells, and the decklid. Paint is also pretty shady in spots. I couldn't get underneath the car well enough today to check out the rockers, fuel/brake lines, and rear frame rails. Also judging by the oil/undercoating under the hood on the body. I'm guessing it's been undercoated all of it's life. Cant tell for sure as i didn't get to look under the car. As for the interior. it's not in the greatest condition.

What I wanna know. Is next time I get up to the car in question. What are some BIG things to look for? apart from the same type of stuff you look for for a 97-03 usually.

I plan on going back to "text drive" the car later this week, to Traction control, and one other are on. And the DIC blinks about checking the braking system and the traction control. He claims the transmission shifts funny (will know exactly how once test driven)

He was asking $1000obo as is. And i've talked him into letting it go for $600 pending a text drive. Can post "general" pics a little later to hear everybody's opinion.

Do you want to drive it? For $600, you could part it out and make $$$
2007 Grand Prix GXP;2002 Camaro Z28 - tune, CAI, and exhaust
2006 GMC 2500HD - ATS high flow manifolds and uppipes, turbo back exhaust, blocked EGR, Denali headlights, Reflexxion Cown Hood
1994 Olds Cutlass Supreme 2 door

I want to drive it long enough to get it home, and to take it to some rallycross events in my town for fun.

If I blow it to s**t, or grenade the trans. I'd more than likely be keeping the top-end for my 01gtp. For the most part. I'd try and part out the most of the interior (whatevers left good, cause the seats are garbage) So i can to get some money back out of it to begin with.

I just really don't wanna over look something that I should on this car, that will leave me with junk. I feel like it's the "same" as a 97-03, but i'd like to know a little bit more about it. that's all. I'd like to make it last a couple events without sinking more $ into it than what I buy it for
