First off, thank you to everyone here...I have scavenged through this site a few times looking for ideas for this car and I have found plenty.

I bought this car on the cheap back in 2009 and immediately had plans for it after seeing this site and joining but never posting. I had a couple friends with GTP's and even a S/C Buick Regal GS so I knew a little about this thing, but I had never even heard of a Comp-G when I bought it. I never posted or did any performance ups to this car because the wife totally dug the car and persuaded me to let her have it. Three years and 45k nearly trouble free miles later, I finally got it back. It's an 05 with 110k miles. It is in excellent mechanical shape and has every option except remote start. HUD, 6 disk Monsoon, Moonroof, Tap-Shift, and tan leather. The tan/black interior with the black body totally sold the car...

Recent work to it includes new brakes and rotors (went back OE), new water-pump (at least it detonated in my driveway!), new Michelin Pilot MXM4 tires (went bigger with the 245/50-17) and an Optima red-top battery. I also had to drop the headliner and fix a leak from the On-Star antennae. Other than these items, the car has run flawlessly and been a great long-distance commuter and road-trip car.

I love this car on the highway and that is where it usually spends it's time. My plans are to keep as much reliability and comfort in the car for long road trips, but I have to work out some things for more performance. The Tap-Shift is a total joke and the tranny needs way more bite between gears. The power is good, but I'm ready for a good 60-80hp more. The wheels and tires may be for sale soon; really wanting 18" or 19" wheels and some sticky summer rubber for when I get the urge to push this thing...

In the next month I'll be upgrading the pulley, replacing the cat-back part of the exhaust, SHIFT KIT FOR SURE, and maybe a different intake and a tune??? I'm not sure the best route to go yet, but I would appreciate any advice.

    Hello.

You'd have to do headers before a pulley drop. Replacing the catback part of the exhaust is only needed if its rusted away or you want to change the sound, but in that case just buy mufflers. You don't get any HP from a catback upgrade and most mufflers sound like poop anyway.

Do some reading on mods and you'll figure it all out.

I like the way it sounds as is; throaty but subtle. I like the idea of headers, but am kinda scared to try the install myself. Freakin' hate the idea of an exhaust tic or burnt wires/boots. The price on the Pacesetters is appealing, but the Stainless ZZP's with the V-band look pretty bad-ass. Maybe I can find a decent shop in my area to do the install.

I would like to keep the cats, but would consider otherwise if I can delete without the tell-tell light. I ordered the shift-kit today and hope to install that next weekend.
