Okay, so about a Month or so ago, I got my license. It was the best feeling in the world, you know, being 16 and able to go anywhere it seemed like.
Well I being the stupid teenager that I am, got on 35 at like 2 am with this girl and she said that we should see how fast we could get the car. We went 105 and then slowed down to 100 and cruised there for about a minute. The car was fine. That was dumb and all, but it didn't have any bad effects. In fact, that run actually got me something I really shouldn't share on this site....
ANYWAYS, I liked going fast that time, so I went on a back road and put the pedal down to the floor until I was at 112. (governor limit) I never took the pedal off the floor until I saw the RPM gauge drop down to 2000 and then up to 3500 and then back down to 2000. By then, the engine was making a weird clicky like noise. I figured that the engine needed to simply cool off, so I drove to a mall with that same girl and was at the mall for about 3 hours. When we left, I tried to find out if the engine was still making the noise. It sure was and that time, it was worse. I decided to go home. When I got on 35 to go no faster than 70, the noise got even worse. By the time I was exiting, the engine shut off. All the power stuff worked fine except for the power steering. I parked in a small office building lot and called Triple A to be towed.
The next day, I learned that the car needed a new engine because it completely seized up. I now do not have the Grand Prix any more and am going to finance a 2012 Mazda 3 because the GP did have some other minor issues. Ban me if you want as I no longer have what I think is an amazing car. I'm switching to a Japanese car...
