G8 are nice but good luck finding one with low mileage.

Not to mention they really aren't priced in the same range as a gto or fbody.
Squirrels are my engine. I need a Ford Regal
    04 Comp G.

Yea and finding one in a 6 speed is even harder, no one wants to move on to an LS with an automatic trans

Yup, the non termi cobras have really come down in price, you can find them all day for less than 10k. And the 4.6 is a sexy sounding engine.

Good thing some GXP's come in auto, but I'd take a 6 speed for sure. I test drove a G8 GT and was turned off by the cheaply looking interior. For a car that was originally 30k I was expecting a bit more. And anyone who is planning on drag racing their LS powered car will take an auto over a manual any day.

Joe, why an 06 GTO instead of a 05?

I dunno ... just newer... I'd get the 05 too as long as it's the 6.0... but both cars are hard to find right now... autotrader set to 300 miles and there's 3 ws6 and 5 gtos

you're more likely to find a GTO that isn't molested versus a WS6.

05/06 has the 6.0. Take a look on www.ls1gto.com in the classifieds.

05 is considered the common rail. It's the last year before they put all the emissions **** on. So dodge went balls to the wall with power. The only thing you really gotta worry about obviously is the trans if it's an auto. If a manual throw in a single disk pulling clutch. And with a tune you could see an easy 20 mpg. 150 horse injectors are cheap and get a good programmer that shows boost trans temp coolant temp all that **** like the edge evolution

Just remember maintenance parts on a diesel are not cheap especially if you have to pay someone to do the work.
