Try going like up a hill with barely any throttle. Before the TC locks up if it is your issue this would generally be an easy way to possibly replicate it. I had that problem before, warrantied it, doing it now, no warranty. The TC is not properly locking up hence where the bucking/RPM fluctuations come from. Going on flat land might do it, but going up a hill with very light throttle at highway speeds or ~50ish may start it to act up.
It does it on flat ground most of the time but if going up an incline you can defiantly feel it struggle like you mention. Hills are hard to find around here unless i go out of my travel route. I'm going to stop by the transmission shop in town tomorrow after work if I get off in time.
Not looking forward to it all that much.
Sounds a lot more like it's ignition related to me. Reason 1 is a trans will never make an engine tough to start. Reason 2 you have engine related (ignition type) codes. These 3800 when they get pissy like your description it's often ignition related
Want me to tell you a story about me swapping my trans at 186K only to find out I had a bad coil that wouldn't show up any other way.
Buzz on over to Dan's and his wife will gladly unload parts from the garage w/o his knowing. Toss on the coils and ICM. Then do plugs and wires if the issue persists. If that doesn't work.. feed it a little chocolate, that usually calms down most females.
I already gave her an icm and coils to try out. Maybe cps?
is the code your getting the low voltage one?
take the loom off, then try bending the plug back at the end of the wires to see if theres any cracks where the wires enter the plug. or along the rest of the wires.
