So I was driving home from my girlfriends house when i heard this god awful ticking sound coming from the engine. I pulled over and checked it out, hoping it was just my fuse from my power wire hitting the belt or something small. When i listened I could tell it was internal and knew i was screwed. turns out something inside the engine snapped and destroyed the engine with 124k on it.

I had to make a decision, get it fixed or sent it to the junkyard. I did some engine searching online this morning and found a 3.8 from a buick lacrosse with 6,992 miles on it for 1500$. the Buick was totaled after getting rear ended a few days ago. I decided to get the engine, since i didn't have any other choice lol. All together its gonna be 2600$, i will be posting some updates after the engine is in

    Where in Mass are you?

If you need a hand on the labor end of that, I can help you out. I'd have it in and running in one day and for about half of that labor price.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

That price does seem high, but finding a 3800 with only 7k on it doesn't happen everyday haha.

Seems a little high, however in your area it's not that unheard of.
