So I had my buddy bring his scanner over to scan for knock, I thought I'd check it after all the plugs, wires, and coils I put in. Under normal conditions knock sat at 0. It came up to about 4 degrees at wide open throttle at around 50-60mph.

Can you tell me exactly what that means? Is that good? Bad? If its bad what's the best way to improve this?

Just as a reminder here's what I have. (I will update my sig with this now.)

    180* T-Stat
    PCM
    CAI
    3" DP w/U Bend Delete
    2.5" Magnaflow Cat Back

I just put in all new coils, AC Delco wires and went with NGK Platinum stock heat range plugs. I did that because I was having the sputter issue and now its cured. Should I go back to my Autolite 104 copper?

Let me know what you think...

KR is the response from the PCM to cylinder detonation. KR is the measure of the number of degrees of overall ignition timing advance that must be removed from the engine to prevent detonation from continuing, thus protecting the engine from damage.

Want to reduce KR? Get headers.

Detonation is what can blow your engine, which is read by KR.

Get them junk platinum plugs out of there.

Either go with autolite 606 coppers or the ac delco iridiums. Platinum plugs should never be used in a 3800.

AL606 and Delco's are stock heat range.

Our cars, with the blower, love the Copper AL606's, but they need to be replaced every 15,000~ miles.

Like Cam said, remove the Platinum plugs and put in the 606s or Delco Iridiums.

colder the air, the more dense, the more boost from your SC. Either that or your knock sensor wasn't one. Usually its on either have such and such mins or temperature of the car when its warmed up.
