Blower Moter blows intermittently

I have an 05 Grand Prix GT, and I have had some trouble with the blower motor. I have replaced the resistor 3 times now, and have had the capacitor installed that absorbs any spike in voltage from the windshield wiper switch. Now the blower motor runs, but not consistently, like on for 3 seconds and off for 30 seconds. Any idea where the problem might be? I hope its not the resistor again because they run at $100 here in Ontario.

I just talked to my mechanic and he says he rarely sees the blower motor go bad. He thinks its the resistor again.

Any help from anybody?

Um. If you replaced the same part more than one time, let alone 3,you need a new mechanic.

That being said, there's a TSB for this, or you have a short somewhere

My blower just recently quit. Swapped a new one in and boom heat again.

It draws out a f*** up in mass manufacturing that GM refuses to fix, but they are nice enough to tell you how to fix it, on your dime.

Your "mechanic" obviously didn't get the memo... Which is very unprofessional on his part.

Start going somewhere else.

I hope you didn't get charged for the 2nd or 3rd replacement...

And who in their right mind would suggest a 4th?!?!?

My mechanic already has done all that the service bulletins advise, and the resistors still keep going.
Maybe a non-Chevy car would be the best fix.......

The resistors will blow often if the blower motor is going bad. It may have a shorted commutator segment in the motor, causing it to draw higher than normal amperage, burning resistors out.

Just thought I'd tell you all, I replaced the blower motor with another used one and bought another blower motor resistor off Ebay and now everything works again, except the air never gets that warm. I'm going to get the local garage to flush the heater core, as that fixed the problem last time.
Any ideas or suggestions?

If you have a pair of pliers and a garden hose you can flush the heater core yourself.

Nothing wrong with that, just don't leave water in it.

heat is good just make sure you dont use water this time of the year.

the little bit of water left in the heater core isn't gonna be enough to dilute it much.

well, to end the argument the garage pulsed fluid through it back and forth to break off the whatever might be in there, and said he got quite a bit out of it. And now it heats like crazy!!! And that's a good think because we've already had snow a few times.
