OK, took forever to settle this with my insurance company because OP was uninsured. I swear Progressive is trying to screw me too....but thats another story. Two different body shops including one suggested by Progressive stated that the bumper was not repairable because of the way it was creased around the license plate. According to the adjuster it can be repaired. ?? Either way I am out $500 for my deductible. Progressive likes the repair cause its $500 cheaper.
Did some looking and found a bumper cover for $100 in very good condition and its supposedly a genuine gm part. I'm thinking the new bumper would be better than a repaired one? Body shop guy said repairing mine would be a better option than aftermarket....if it can be repaired (wouldn't know for sure until its disassembled) because the fit/finish on aftermarket wasn't as good.
Any way to tell for sure if the bumper is a genuine GM part?
Thanks!!
