Edit to add, in the pic below I had pressed the econo button, yes I know that disables the A/C. I had been trying to cycle the button on and off to see if that made any difference, and I just happen to leave it in that mode when I snapped the pic. I was looking for a way to manually override the auto control and force the A/C to come on.

Ok normally something like this would not bother me, however we are in the middle of a road trip from Surrey B.C. Canada down through Washington State into Oregon and back. Then I notice the A/C which normally blows so cold that its almost too cold, has stopped working. Then I realize that the display is showing -6 outside. After a bit of reading in the Owners manual it says that below 38F the computer won't allow the compressor to turn on. FREAKING HELL. If I have read correctly the sensor is located near the front of the passenger wheel, under the car.

Should I just replace it, or is there something else that I should look at before I yank it out and put in a new one.

    Thanks for any input.

This is the control panel we have.

Thank You FFDP, by the amount of posts you have and the fact that you have already helped me out a ton, I won't give it a 2nd thought, I'll go get a new sensor first thing in the morning.

When mine went bad it would read 40º F outside when it was 80º F outside.

So I went to the dealership and bought a new sensor and all was good.

Just wanted to pop back in and say Thank You. They had to special order it in, but 13.99 and its installed and everything is back to perfect. An odd question, is there a way to change it from reading in Celsius to Fahrenheit? I know you can change the HUD and such with the button on the DIC, but I would really like the temp to be able to be displayed in F rather than C.

Well I have tried all the buttons, both short push and long push and have not gotten anything to change on the DIC from English to Metric. If it is a switch on the back of the unit, it'll have to wait till I get back to Canada and can play with it. Probably when I decide on the head unit.
