180 really even wouldn't hurt stock. It doesn't do anything. But I sure as hell thinks it makes a difference under the hood and if I'm sitting in traffic or doing whatever it won't get as hot. But yeah 160 is for when u have a lot of mods and need the car to stay cool

180 doesn't do anything for sitting in traffic unless you have a PCM to kick the fans on sooner. Otherwise it still lets the temp hit 210 before the fans kick on.

As for stock... not unless you have knock before modding. Seriously, unless you've got a 3.4 or smaller pulley and the supporting mods, don't worry about it. I will never run a 160. These engines were made to run hot, running them a bit cooler is like a mild deterrent to hotspots.

How many hp is that worth?

Hp takes bigger swings based on intake temperature.

Acceleration changes more based on change in elevation than what a 180 and an under drive do.

So why should you sacrifice flow then attempt to compensate with a lower temp thermostat? 13 chp only if you were knocking to begin with?

right the fans still kick on at the same temp but what i meant was it doesnt happen as often. or at least thats what it seems like to me.

i personally dont think it hurts anything. but i may not know as much as some when it comes to the grand prix. like i said. if it was free, id def do it.

this basically sums it up Easy Performance | ZZP Underdrive Water Pump Pulley Testing a few degrees wont have much of an effect on HP most Grand Prix's run at different temperatures anyway because off different mods they may have. The under drive pulley is maybe only a few MM bigger then the original so i dont see a big increase in temperature.

i think no matter what car you have, if you have lighter weight in any of the pullies it is better for the car. as long as its not made cheap. i mean like a strong light weight pulley
