Shops always try to find a sucker that's why I try to go to the small joe smo one man or maybe a couple of men operations. They tend to treat you better. Hell all that welded I had done cost me $50 and didn't pay up front until everything was done.. And he was cool with me bringing it to him having the piping tacted then bringing back home to make sure I'm happy with the angle and that they fit just fine. Then waited 2 weeks for the hi flow cat to come in so I can have that tacted.. Mocked up then welded in. Cool older guy who trusted me to bring everything back to him.

Sure couldn't hurt.. Poly up top made more of a difference to me then the flip mounts ever did.

Changed plugs. Put on a black filler plate for kicks until I get a can of matching silver paint. Changed throttle body gasket oh and attempted to drill out my snapped crossover bolts. Fail lol. So it's c clamps for the time being and this is for you red lol

I'm sure I'll hate it a few days lol

sadly those mom and pop type places are getting harder and harder to find. this was a 3 bay shop, 3 guys inside and the boss. no more no less.

guy had it welded up in less then 5 minutes.

when the guy said 200, i was like thats 20 minutes worth of work tops. lol and they wanted the tb off and i said i would take it off and bring a new gasket, so he didnt have to touch it, even still wanted 175 if i took the tb off, see ya pal.

Yup shops these days rape you on pricing. Mom and pop shops are becoming a rare thing.

    Because they can't make money.

$30 is a good price for what Scotty had done, but the shop didn't profit on it.

Yea I lucked out finding this guy he was close maybe a 15 min drive.. Does iron work and builds fencing so no lifts or anything but didn't matter since I was bringing the parts to him and not the car. It was a pain I stopped by at least 6-7 places everyone kept saying no you don't want to mig weld that you want to tig weld that blah blah. So do you do tig weld.. Nope and recommended other places and this happened about 5 times..nobody tigged anymore.. Finally found a fabrication shop.. Went and talked to the guy and explained to him what I wanted done he said of you cut it and hold the new piping in place where you wanted it'll be around $400 or so.. Wtf.. Said yea no way I'm paying that for maybe 45 mins of welding if that I'm not paying more then $50 to have this simple crap welded.. Then I found the one guy I was referring too.. He asked me what do you think is a fair price and since all the hassle I had to go through I said $50 is fine with me.

they sure did, guy took 5 minutes setting up to finish, i had my own bung for them to install. all they did was use wire and a man for 5 minutes. so he made 20 bucks easy, depending on how much 2 minutes worth of gas and wire is worth lol and a 5/60's of a hour's labor to pay that guy lol

Sometimes it's not so much about profiting because if they do good work there's that chance you'll bring them bigger things in the future to work on. After all I'm sure they didn't lose any money after charging $30 for 2 minutes of work.

Gas, wire, O2, salary, electricity, rent....trust me, they didn't profit.
