Won't hurt anything. Unless it runs the cat diagnostic check.

    What's the cat diagnostic check?

I thought so too, since I always thought the heater was for when you first start the car, you get readings instantly before the exhaust has to heat it up.

The pcm tells the car to dump fuel to make sure the cat is working right. On second thought it probably won't cause you any problems what so ever.

Do you think I may get better MPG's or performance by installing a new one? I can get a bosch for $32 online, or AC Delco for $43.

I helped with one on a friends Impala with the 3.8, it was so hard to get out. We used an oxy/ac torch and got the exhaust pipe glowing red before it would even start to creak.
We bought a bosch sensor and it worked fine.

If it were me I'd tune the code out and forget about it.

Beat on it pretty good to see how the much of a difference the trans cooler makes. Idk it's not really that hot here (73 degrees) today, but the temps hovered around 200 degrees with me beating on it isn't bad. In traffic after the beating it cooled down pretty fast and never got above 180 ish. Even if it only helps a little, the $40 bucks was worth it imo.

Haha I'm currently running two extra colleges and in stop and go hit 180 but I recently dropped a pretty penny into a 6inch radiator bypass cooler I bought from triple edge performance. Curious to see how big of a difference it makes

I've busted my but on my GP the past 2 days. The rear brakes needed to be completly redone. I ordered everything from the calipers to the parking break cable and replaced it all. Stops really nice now.

    Replaced the condenser.

This line snapped, so I had to replace it. 94+ W-body cars got really nice lines in them that didn't rust. So I snagged one at the local u-pull it.

New line with the nice bolts on it.

Stopped and messed around with the top of the plenum. To clean it up a bit.

Then it was back to replacing all of the O rings on the AC lines.

At the AC shop getting her charged up.

First go with the temp guage put it at 39. While driving around town it dipped as low as 37*

After a trip to the car wash to remove about a months worth of dirt and dust that accumulated on this thing. She is back on the road and better than ever.

You 04+ guys can see your trans temps on the DIC, cant you? I don't think I can check mine, but I'm still planning on getting a cooler. Still not sure how to hook it up. (Cutting lines and using hose clamps on adapters or something)
