did a water pump on moms ford Taurus, what a pos to work on. the gasket was welded on, still cant believe i didnt get sliced up with the razor blade cleaning it up.

then cause its a ford they dont have a nice pic of the belt routing, so i looked at it before i took it off and was like f taking a pic, thats simple enough, well i forgot how it went on, thanks to a smart phone i found a diagram lol

oh, and i bled too. took a few layers of skin off my thumb by hitting the post where the idler goes, very sharp edge as i found out the hard way.

post man dropped my new front brakes off at the door too. what a shock, going to the post office and *****ing 3 times seems to have worked.

EDIT: washed moms pos ford too.

I did a water pump on a ford windstar 3.8, the gasket was glued on as well, and there was almost no room to get your hand in there. The water pump also wouldn't fit out of the spot unless 2 motor mounts were removed and the engine jacked up. And the stupid water pump design sucks where instead of the rad hose going to the water pump, a cheap metal tube goes into the water pump first, sealing with an o-ring, then the hose goes on the pipe. And no belt diagram. Seriously, most things I do on cars, GM's are easier. Ford seems to be the hardest usually. I would joke around when my boss would tell me something that needs to be done on a car in the lot, if it was a GM I'd say, It's a GM so it's probably easy. Usually I was right. Even doing a heater core on a GM stake truck was the easiest thing imaginable.

Today I'm going to clean the throttle body and iac on the 3800 impala to see if I can get the rough starts fixed. It does have stock plugs/wires at 115k but it's only on start up. Plus I'm saving the plugs for when I do the LIM gaskets. Oh and it's due for an oil change, that will probably get done today too. I've got the oil/filter.

moms 3.0 was not that bad thank god. the torque strut and alt did have to come off as well as the coolant tank no rad cap deal. idler and tensioner.

still sucked. at least i put it up on ramps to lift it up some. its so low.

He'd be surprised since I'm never on it at work. And I don't have a smartphone, but it would have come in handy lots of times. He's the kind of guy who says teens are on the phone way too much, they're wasting their lives, etc. lol

FIY the time I needed fusebox info, the owners manual was not in the car lol. To Alldata for something as simple as that...

Nice job on the glossy finish russ, but the paint may not stick to the bushing well. I may paint mine, but black like stock since mine are a bit rusty. I'll remove the bushing before painting and put in a new one before reassembly since mine are sloppy.

I almost had to redo the DBs I almost dropped them on the driveway. Yeah my bushing is sloppy too I was gonna tape it but I forgot, then painted and cleared the bolts on the braces and took bench grider with wire wheel to the DB bolts. Engine cover is staying off also.
