3 and a half hour oil change(due to stupid previous owner) found a mouse nest in my air filter. Replaced my air filter box with a cone filter. Hit a deer the first day i got my car so i got my fender came in and it now needs painted...put a headunit in last week along with two rear 6 x 9's and a box for 2 6 and a halves. Need to buy a new power wire(for my sub) along with fog lights and whole headlight lenses(any ideas on cheap good Bulbs, preferably blue) 3 sensors to replace...knock, CKP, and my O2 sensor is going off but i think i have a bad gasket due to a fluttering noise that i hear when the gas is pressed.
Ok yesterday and today... Rear Trailing arms (HT Motorsports), Sway Bars (GMPP), Endlinks(moog), Front Control Arms (moog), Poly Bushings on all (Energy Suspension), Don Rome Strut Tower Brackets for the GMPP STB's, has to go to Advance Auto for the damn BJ separator tool cause there was no other way to get the old BJ out... hahaha, most awesome $10 I spent! :) Cleaned the SC cover and put it back for now cause it looks cool. I think I might start a Members ride thread to keep with all the upgrades, mod's I'll be doing before springtime, lol...
The difference in the ride is quite amazing really... :)
I put my cover back on in the winter because it seems to help warm the motor up faster.
F body breaks this past weekend
Took the car to the local Pontiac service dealer to find out a sensor inside the transmission is causing my RPMs to "flutter" when accellerating before shifting from 3-4 gear. Gotta love them 100k powertrain warranties. It's covered completely!
Did an oil change and a trans pan drop on the Impala this weekend. Glad I got it done before it got too cold because its frickin freezing today!
On Thursday I ...(gasp) swapped my hiccuping 193,750 mile transmission. Along with passenger axle, passenger wheel bearing and rear engine cover/rear main seal. Some will laugh that I didn't do the work at my place, but I often don't when it would be easier on a lift...up goes the Regal to Dan's shop. 72F heated shop, with lift. Downside is things move slower there since tools etc aren't in their normal spots. Max went with me and helped out. What a great guy.
Looks like a pic from Tuesday when we swapped Scottydoggs transmission, 4th gear was holding great at 193xxx

Dan clipped the front plate with the garage door, it needs a screw to fix it.

Here's the trans out, flex out, and rear engine cover off. You have to drain coolant and oil to do this, but typically this fixes that damn oil leak that we usually see from the rear cover/rear main area.

Then I fought a battle to find out that the VSS reluctor was a spoof 34 tooth one from when I had 3.29 gears years ago. Pulled the axle and swapped that with the correct 30 tooth. No amount of programming helped.
And..the hiccuping has returned. Guess I have to actually fix the issue since it's not a transmission.
Shoveled the car out while it warmed up and did deposits for work again, couldnt get much pass 40km/h safetly, crazy!
Saturday did LIM gaskets and coolant elbows. Sunday I went to KC and got an in car tune from Bryan Higgins. Car runs hella better and smooth sailing.
fixed my wipers and washer pump.!!!!
replacing the se lower front fascia with the base model version as it has been damaged a few times and is in pretty bad shape now, new one will be painted to match the car
My friend gave me a 15" jl sub and rockford amp to put in my car until his other friend gets a car. So we hooked that up. Free beets FTW :th_king-normal:
Canceled liability.
Officially parked.
