That would require someone to udk work BUT a cron function on the server would clean it up. But you risk it deleting everything over a year old and that would include people's accounts so manually deleting old threads is they way to go but then again that's not Seo friendly and could result the site getting banned from top search results. And lead the site to colapse due to no new people. So slick leave it be.
