Transmission is acting up.. what could it be ? Please help

Hello, I don't think it is slipping.. I believe its called shuddering ?

It shifts fine until It gets hot, ( driving hard for about 30 mins - 1 hour ) then it starts acting up... then if I let it cool down for lets say 30 mins, Its fine again..

I wouldn't say the gears are grinding either.. What could the problem be and how would I go about fixing it ?

Maybe a solenoid ?

Should I do a trans flush ?

Or should I buy this one off my boss for $300 (130k miles on it)

Don't do a transflush, it'll usually end up making things worse in these cars if it hasn't had a flush in a long time.

How many miles on the trans? How many miles on the fluid? What color is it? Any debris/grit in it?

Im sorry. I should have listed all the info..

Engine/Trans/Body has 119k miles.

I bought the car for $1650 back on July 11th, I love the car, Inside and out is extremely clean.

The fluid was actually terrible looking, resembled oil very much but every week for two weeks now, I have been siphoning a quart out from the dipstick reservoir and then pouring a new quart in... Its not quite a red color yet but its getting better looking..

Recent work I've done myself in the past week or two would be ..

Oil change
New Oil filter
New Air Filter
New Water pump
Radiator flush and new antifreeze
New Tires
I bought new spark plugs but haven't installed them yet, I'll be doing this tomorrow.


I believe I need to put new lifters on it as well.. Its making a ticking sound and im almost positive its the lifters.. Does anyone know off hand how much new lifters would run and how hard the job would be ? Pretty sure the front is easy, just remove the cover and install new, but the back lifters ?? I have to to rip half the engine apart huh ?

What makes you think you need new lifters? You need to remove the upper and lower intake manifold to get to those. The rocker arms are right under valve covers, a lot of people get the two confused. However, I doubt you need either of those replaced.
