Nobody going to be able to tell you what you 'should' be able to run..every car is different...you need to monitor your knock first and that will tell you what pulley you can run safety. Invest in a Aeroforce scan gauge before you think about changing the stock pulley.

    Scan first, then pulley drop.

A 3.6 is as far as you can really go on a basic pulley drop tune.

One of the guys I work with has a friend who tunes alot of the gtp's around my town from what they tell me. they said with a tune, headers, cai, 160 tstat, colder plugs i can run a 3.2 pully. I have herd online that with my motor i need to cam or intercool to drop below a 3.6 or i will get knock. Also i swaped a motor for a friend in the same car and his motor had a series 2 stamp on the block so im guessing my motor also has it because there the same excat car so my question is why do it say series 2 on the block and series 3 on the cover for the motor?

You have a series 3 in your comp g but a 3.2 will chip a piston very quickly. The blocks are the same gm was lazy and didn't want to stamp series 3 on the block.

160 is WAY to cold, 180 is fine.

3.2 on a gen 3 blower is like a 3.0 on yours. Which = blown motor.

A 3.2 wont happen w/o a cam or intercooler or both and of course you'll more than likely have to upgrade to bigger fuel injectors. You'll probably be able to drop until a 3.6 if your not knocking and get a good tune and you should be happy.

it'd be just as slow since your timing would be junk lol.

stock pulley + headers = winning.

Did anyone other than me laugh at the contradiction in this post? You just stated that one should scan first before dropping pulleys. Then stated a a certain pulley size for a "basic pulley drop tune." However if one scans an individual may very well be able to drop past a 3.6 on a "basic pulley drop tune." *Insert Monocule smilie*

Cam or intercooler to go below 3.6. What? Where exactly did you read that?

Any drop in pulley size will net an increase in the butt dyno.
