But when I went thru a drive thru to pick up a sandwich, the temp increased slightly above half. Scared me being I thought the problem was fixed with the elbows. You do know that cars heat soak really fast when no air is going past the radiator right?

Im gunna assume the temp went back to around half on the gauge after you started moving again.

If so, its normal.

But go ahead and get a coolant, it can never hurt anything.
