What do you guys think? Obviously I need a better tune but could something else be wrong?

Sounds like you have a miss and a vac leak.

any codes? sounds like a possible vac leak as well. You got a vacuum gauge on it? Can you scan it?

No codes except the code for the EVAP not being there. I don't have a vacuum gauge but I will be checking over every vac connection tomorrow. Couple of things going on. 1. It starts fine but it trying to idol at 2000 rpms. 2. When I hit the gas the rpms do not go up and I hear a wining from under the air filter?

    Setup-
    Top Swap
Gen V, LQ4 MAF, L32 MAP, North* TB, TOGs, AL 104s, 3.6 pulley--Deleted the EGR and EVAP (running a breather on the EVAP)

Problem sloved! It ended up being the STUPID ZZP bracket on the North* TB. It was pulling the throttle cable to 22% before I even touched the gas. It ended up ruining the plugs so after a while it would not keep running. I ended up having modify the ZZP bracket to work by drilling the holes out and lengthening them then cutting out a slot on the bracket also.

are those ALL of the mods? If so, you might wanna find a 3.8 or larger pulley....

I did a Gen V, North*, LQ4 MAF, TOGS with a 3" downpipe and AL 104s. I have a MPS on there right now with a 3.6 pulley and I am going to get it tuned this week. I guess if we find that I have tons of KR that we can't tune out I will pulley up but I don't think I will have a problem.

    You will be surprised.

You should be running a 3.8 because A) you're running a top swap, add 0.2 to your pulley size.

    B) you're running a Gen V, add 0.2" to your pulley size.

You can hope, but you should be on a 3.8.

If you were intercooled and cammed we could talk smaller pulleys

So you can't run a 3.4 pulley on a top swapped car with headers?

you might be able to, but your tune wont be maximizing the setup at all because youre probably running too much boost.

Hmm. I guess I will have to pick up a 3.8 pulley then for the Gen V then.

And you'd probably be at stock or lower than stock timing to get away with it. Rockers would help a little...but Methanol Injection, E85, Intercooler, or a cam/heads would net WAY better gains.

Well I am getting a 3.8 pulley made for me Tues night by Nate (Smoothflow) and will be picking that up Wed.. I will be getting the full custom tune on Thurs, so I guess we will see what happens. Wish me luck.

Well I got the tune a while back. The 3.6 actually was able to run pretty well without having to change much. It was pretty cold and it still ran pretty well with the 3.6 only seeing a little bit of KR at WOT and only at high speeds.

I am just going to run the 3.8 pulley for the rest of the year to be on the safe side until it warms back up. The only problems I am having now is the trans and my oil pressure sensor. The guy who did my tune did some modification to the TCC table to make the torque converter lock up differently. I do like the shifts but it seems like it jumps into over drive and the shift points to RPM rates are not right. He said he will have to fine tune it for me. The other thing is now that I did the top swap my oil pressure gauge is not working on my dash. I am going to try to replace the sensor and check to make sure the wire is getting power.

I can tell you one thing though I love that I have a boosted car again. Plus it was nice to smoke a kid who thought his Crown Vic look-a-like cop car was fast lol.

throw a cam in ur top swap and it'll really wake it up...also do some headers...then throw a 3.4 on and go get a tune...run about 18* of timing and you'll be in good shape man...thats how mine is set up and it runs amazing!!!

bigger pulley, more timing. I was only able to get 14* timing with a 3.6" with 1.9 rollers (no cam, no i/c) i sullied up to stock 3.8" with 16* timing then the car was a meaner and leaner
