Fawk been screwing up a bit lately
you gonna buy all yer own bolts/washers and cups/bearings?
3 bolts (m10 1.5) get welded to the adjusting ring. cup gets welded to 304 stainless plate and 4 bolts (8x1.25) each plate
i got the stainless pieces cut last night hopefully i can get em tapped and toss everything on the shelf
btw too much $ to machine stainless cups so it looks like the FK bearing chromoly cups are it....
I got another set of cups and bearings and hardware not a problem. Fastenal is right up the road from the base
-12 fyi 1.75" od cup
Awesome....5 sets means less extras
-14 is too big to allow a lot of adjustment in the oem bucket window, and tire to coilover spring clearance
so how much you think you want to offer me for 2 aluminum swash plates, one of them scratched, two 1/4" 304 stainless plates, both scratched and holes threaded to m8 by 1.25, and two 0.075" steel mounting bolt horseshoes.....
I got em boxed up next to the lowering springs I gotta ship out...
sounds good to me, btw i prepped the alum plates n ****. if you bolt em together right the only thing see'n the scratches will be the tire....
i also have craploads of spare stainless washers n a few others so ill toss some extra's in
im actually surprised how many people are wanting a set
you still have your sleeves? im still working on machining the strut to monoball sleeves....tryin to make em so that by flipping em youll end up with OEM strut mounting height or .5" taller (for more compression on the lowered guys)
Took em back to summit. Don't really have time to get the balljoint **** rollin right now. You doin paypal right
no I was talking about the alignment sleeves where the strut rod threads go through the mono ball I'm still working on machining some that allow you to change the mounting height of the shaft... I can shoot those to ya in an envelope....
I have my blueprint for the 3/4" monoball lower ball joint that works with the monoball pins I have to allow for roll center correction.....been saving scrap chunks of 1/2" steel plate to make em sometime soon.
being able to fix the roll center would probably help you more than any fancy strut mount
Oh I was using bronze bearings from ace hardware. But yea it'd be nice to have some machined pieces to get the strut up high in the mount
Ill pm ya the PayPal.
Make sure to put in the notes... "for a set of those sweet "Fat Kevin" caster/camber plates"
on their way to the whorehouse!
you done yet?
looks like this coming sat ill be machining the bearing hats.
fyi the top of the QA1/HAL/INtents have torringtons and the upper is too thin tho carry the load nicely to the bearing. so im making this integral to our 4 steel bushings.
im just gonna black oxide em and let em rust. I thought about stainless but **** that cost....
gonna put the whole sleeve length on the strut end so that I can use a wj stainless washer and nut up top. by cutting up my "junk agx" I found I can layout the markers, cut it short and just slot the end of the rod...oddly enough though the newer agx's on the shelf from the 442 look to have a plastic upper....sorta don't wanna pull it out to see how it compares to the thin steel rod of the earlier agx.
the reality is we'll hope the low mile gr2's and the better anti rise geometry up front will do just fine being able to jack the rear coilovers
so im gonna set the strut rod up as high as I can go and say ****it
please show me pics of your current top hats and any measurements you have
Beatings for the plates are on the way to have welded in. My stock setup is just as described in the original pic. Used factory mevotech mounts and welder I'm the CPW -14 wide bearings in
So who's making me or selling me some mounts
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
i only have one extra set
i think this shall be a fight to the death thing....or give em away to someone that collates all of my informative posts from cgp/3800pro/tcg/etc into something cohesive as "ramblings of a lunatic" lol
