I just did my rear brakes today and let me say I got my moneys worth. Lol, metal on metal to the point were my rotors were dug in a good 1/8". Anyway, my rotors were held in by little metal clips that spun on the lugs. I didn't reuse them and don't hear the rotor rattling. Parts store don't have a listing for it. Was it something the last person did as a precaution or do they require them? Thanks

No clips on my rotors. No idea what their purpose would even be.

Factory brake rotors have 2-3 metal circle push on type clips on the studs to keep everything inline on the assembly line.

Just about every single car maker uses them, they are not needed.

As Fivefingerdeathpunch stated they are installed on the assembly line to keep the rotors in place during assembly. That is there intended and only purpose. When replacing the rotor you cut them off and forget them. The wheel keeps the rotor in place in the real world

Thanks guys. I thought it was weird as well, I've never seen that before. Those stock brakes sure lasted awhile. I ordered them from prime choice auto parts. No one could touch their prices. Hopefully I'm happy with em.

Unlike the front rotors the rears had lots of play from side to side. A good 1/2" I'd say. Is this normal? ? I went to the drive thru and when I released my brakes I heard the rotors letting go.

is this after the wheel was put back on?

new pads and rotors will drag some till they break in, or you failed to clean and lube the slider pins.
