I recently (within the past month) installed a OEM replacement lateral arms (rear/rear) and was getting a slight clunk on the passenger side. So yesterday I backed the car up on ramps and noticed the bolt on the passenger side was not fully tight but enough that I could shake the lateral arm and it’d move a bit. I tightened it up as hard as I could and lowered the car then drove around. Now the car feels a bit wobbly at random times going straight and a slight vibration feel to it. Doesn’t do it when turning left or right FWIW. Was I supposed tighten the bolt with the tires in the air and not suspension loaded?

i just realize that the rear/rear is adjustable and i'd need an alignment even if it tightened the bolt down kept the lateral arm from moving. luck has it i am due for inspection lol.

edit-speaking of inspection...can they fail you if the front sway bar where the endlinks go thru the piece is cracked-welds broke?
heres an example-the one pictured to the right where you can see it's split

Likely you need the alignment and that's all.

yea thanks billboost. i just realize that from the old thread from last year that you helped me out alot on lol. what about the front sway bar that tends to crack around the endlinks, is that something that could fail an inspection?

I don't live in PA, I don't think they'd see it here in my state, but they don't look for much.

Give Pat a call, he'll likely know.
