Im having this issue where every now and again when I'm going slow If I press the brakes the pedal only goes down about half way and stops hard right there. Then it feels like its hopping a bit against my foot. The car will stll move though. It slows me down a bit but 1st gear still pulls me forward. Another note is it seems to happen more if not always when I have the wheel turned one way or another.

So I haven't pulled the tires yet to look at the brakes. I just got the car not too long ago and don't drive it much so I haven't messed with anything yet. I'm wondering if the pads are sticking on the pin. Has anyone else had a similar issue? Or any ideas on what could be causing this?

I'm waiting for the insane cold to break a bit so I can get out there and pull the tires so I figured I'd ask you guys.

    Thanks

you may have air in your brake lines. air will cause the pedel to go half way and will not hold you at a stop. bleed them asap
im a cookie again yay me

The thing that makes me think that it's not air is the mechanical nature of how it happens. Its a very grindy hard jumpy thing..not the brake going all the way to the floor and not stopping. And every other time it stops great. In fact It stops better than any car I've ever owned.

Thanks for the reply though. I do need to go over the whole car closely still.

It happens on flat ground yes. I think you guys are right about the ABS acting up. It seems like the ABS is engaging at the wrong time.

I haven't noticed the ABS light coming on. Usually when it happens I have to be quick about pumping the brake and turning to try to make sure I don't hit anything if the brake pump doesn't work. So far it has worked everytime. I have a friend at Advanced i'll have to get him to hook up the scanner to it.
