I'm looking for some help. I have a 02 GTP and I've had 3 speed sensor plugs/harnesses ripped out over the last few months. The only thing I can think is I'm not positioning everything correctly. I've mirrored the passenger side but that must not be right. Could someone please post a picture of where these two things should be positioned.

    Thank you.

I'm not entirely sure which clips you are talking about but I purchased a wire harness from the dealership and it includes all of the clips that go into the frame/lower control arm.

if your putting them back in and they are tight and not falling out thats about all there is to it.

are you off roading it? or driving through leaf piles or something? they dont just rip off all by themselves. you need to run something over and then they get ripped off.

Those clips are just fine. All still there and tight. The harness plug is being ripped from the sheathing and broken off the mounting bracket. The hub plug is also being ripped out. What position should the harness plug be mounted on the bracket. Where it will plug in at the top or bottom. Also what position should the hub wire/plug be in when the hub is bolted down. Like I said I mirrored the passenger side but it keeps getting ripped out. As far as off roading or anything else there is nothing that I can think of other then going through snow.

iirc, you plug it in, the plug clips on that metal tab, then the wire runs across the top of the lca under the axle then to the back of the lca to the sub frame and up to its plug.

sounds like the wire is to tight maybe and is pulling on the plug when you turn the wheels all the way in one direction or the other.

Will it be facing (male part of the plug) up or down when plugged into the metal clip?

im not sure, its been over a year since my last hub change.

take the wheel off, jack it up, turn the wheels lock to lock, watch whats going on under there. you may just need to move the harness a inch or 2 closer to the hub to add some slack for movement.

Good idea and I did that the last time and there was no point where it was getting tight or even close to it. Yet somehow it still got caught on something or was rippes out. That's why the only thing I can thing of is the positioning I'm putting things in is wrong.

pretty sure it will only fit one way, and looks right. check the other side for its placement. then mirror it for the side with the problem.

use jack stands too, or jack the whole front up off the ground. dont turn the wheels and trust it just on a jack, the cars gonna move when the wheels turn.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

The harness plug will lock into place on the bracket in either direction. I think that's where I went wrong the first time by having it set down so the hub plug would go up into it. It only lasted a couple of days that way. The passenger side is set up and that's how I've plugged it in the last 2 times. As far as lifting the car that's not a problem. I have access to a 4 point lift so I can see everything is clear. The only thing that is different this time is the boot was twisted about 180 degrees on the on side. Almost as if it grabbed something is the wire at least got caught up in it.

Does anyone have a picture of what is should look like? or know of any posts that show one?

I feel your pain....this happened to me over and over for about 2 years. eventually i just cut some wire from a spare harness that was lying around and soldered an extra inch or two into the middle of the harness to give it more room to move around without ripping apart. I have no idea why I suddenly had this issue but it was so annoying....While it was up in the air I would turn the wheels both ways as far as it would go and the harness still had plenty of play. I could never figure out why, but once I gave it some extra length I didn't have the problem again.

The pigtail connector coming off of the hub will clip on the metal bracket and be facing down. The chasis harness will connect into it and be facing up. About that year range some had a plastic retainer on the hub pigtail and others had a metal retainer. If you have the wrong one the hub pigtial will not stay on thw bracket. For the chasis harness, it normally hangs down about flush with the bottom of the control arm. I can get a picture of a similar one tomorrow if you still need. The main thing is that it is not stretching when turning left and right

Thank you, that's the information I was looking for. somewhere some how the passenger side has been reversed as well. So I was trying to match it up to something that was incorrect. I'm just surprised I have not had any issues with the passenger side.

    Thanks again for the info.
