Yeah, big surprise, I snapped both engine mounts up top of the engine. I'm about tired of replacing those weak aluminum pieces. Does anyone know if there's a fabricator out there that makes stronger mounts? I'm not looking for dogbones, those are looking just fine.

the f* if I know. all I know is that the mounts attached to the block that also connect to the dogbones have been snapped once before. Guess this is that bada* of a mild GT or something. Those websites didn't have the mounts that I was looking for. They have billet dogbones all day, and 3800performance had the polyurethane dogbone bushings, but those aren't what I'm looking for. I was given the advice of looking for a custom fabrication shop in this area or around Nashville.

Wait are talking about the dogbone mounts or the aluminum that connects to the cylinder head ? If that's the case the ls4 piece is the thickest and strongest

I'm talking about that aluminum that connects the dogbones to the heads, yes. Since that's the case, I'll look up the mounts for the LS4, then. The GXP from 2002 or 2003 will have what I'm looking for or am I looking for 04+? Here in just a few, after my wife gets the kids to school, I'll take a couple pics and post them to remove all ambiguity. Thanks again.

Whaddya mean there was no LS1 or LS3 in the 97-03 body style? I remember my body style having a 327 in it. Then along came the 04+ body style with the LSx in it (LS3 iirc), which was also a 327. Either way, here's what I'm talking about on my car:

There was no V8 option in the 97-03 body style.

I would speculate that you have something wrong with the car, if you keep breaking the aluminum mount.

My reason for saying this is, that mount is the same for all years 97-08 with the 3800. L36, L67, L26, L32 they all use that bracket. So it has to be something causing it to break, not just the mount. People with high power motor builds still running on the stock brackets don't have problems but your basic bolt-on NA motor breaks them repeatedly.... something is wrong here.

Should you want to look for a LS4 bracket, it is also Aluminum, likely to break the same, but look for a GXP car 05-08. Or search for part # 10306033.
The proper bracket for your car is #24503458.

While the brackets look similar, not 100% the bolt pattern is the same and will allow it to bolt up, but you're welcome to try and let us know if it does.

How do your lower mounts look? Those being bad could rock the motor back and forth too much and cause the top to snap. Happened once in my GT I had, but not multiple times like this lol I'd try the lowers first since they're notorious for being garbage.

Pickup the cast iron L67 coil bracket. Also found on some early L36's.

If one breaks, which is common for the passenger side L36 aluminum piece to break, all of that stress is now on the drivers side. That one is known to break when it is the only one being used.

So get an iron piece for the passenger side.

    There hasn't been a 327 for a long time. The 5.3 is a 325.

A bunch of guys on clubgp used the ls4 on their builds however these were 450+whp from what I gathered they were bolt in but I think I know the op's problem don't tourqe the **** out of the bolt that goes to the dog bone mount those ears start to bend just enough to cause fractures and you will snap the ears everytime

Thanks for setting me straight on the GXP thing. Once I get the steering s* replaced, I'm going to go with poly lower mounts and upper bushings. Much appreciated, yall.
