Probably a wheel bearing or the wires/ connector for the ABS (beside wheel bearing) are corroded. Easy fix.

Your ABS may not work, and you're looking at about $110 or so for a replacement TIMKIN hub assembly. Don't use the cheap Autozone ones. Check Rock Auto for it. Jack up the front end and put your hands on each tire at 12 and 6 and rock it in and out. If you feel play in that tire then that's the hub I'd start with. Can be replaced with basic handtools and a breaker bar. You will need a large socket for the spindle nut.

I would check the harness first, and then go with the bearing replacement. Mine had this issue and wasn't found until I stuck a multmeter on it and discovered it wasn't getting a signal back to the EBCM.

Could be. I've also seen 34 and 32 depending on what brand replacement axle has been installed in the past.

If it's just the wiring that's effed up you can drive that car till the wheels fall off.

(the wiring won't make the wheel fall off lol)

If you drive it till a wheel falls off then you know it was a wheel bearing haha.

first off look to see whats wrong then determinate if its a hub or not.

jack the car up, one wheel at a time, leave the lugs tight. then grab the top and bottom of the tire, do a push pull with each hand. watch the rotor where it meets the caliper, if its moving you see it there.

just tested my d/s front today, its moving a lot now. it used to just have a 1/8 inch nudge in movement.

if the hubs feel tight, then take each tire off and unplug each hub, all 4, clean the plugs, di electrical grease them, work them off and on a few times. also check the wires to that plug, as they cant get damaged.

this is all free to look at and figure out what maybe wrong.

if all of this seems good, go have the cars scanned as you just wind up tossing money at it. dont know what year you got, but some newer cars will show a abs code on the free scanner at AZ. older cars need a shop to scan it, and they will charge you most of the time.

If the lights stay on for a bit then go off while driving what would you think that is?

no brake pads left? look at the rotors, are they all grooved up?

or the hub has gone to crap real bad.

    test the hubs yet?

was there a squealing before the grinding? if so, you just bought new brakes.

if the rotors are all messed up looking, stop driving it asap. one will look like its been metal on metal. aka not nice and smooth looking.

no i dont think i heard any squeal. It was like a grinding/rattling noise that you could hear and kind of feel in the pedal

if you feel it in the brake pedal, check your rotors asap. metal to metal stops you for only so long.

could that be the reason my abs/trac off lights are on? or just another problem on top of that?
