Ok my abs light and trac light came on out the blue. I scanned it with my abs scanner and it says no codes. So I'm hella confused. I'm sure it's a abs scanner. It's an actron cp9580. Is there any other reasons why the light would come on? Low tire pressure? Low brake pads? I have a 1999 grand prix gtp. Any help is greatly appreciated. This is driving me crazy.

Ok my 1999 grand prix isn't listed on their chart of supported vehicles. So I'm guessing that's why I didn't find any codes?

Use a Tech II. Borrow a mechanic's time with pizza, beer, or your sister, whatever. I guess a few bucks works, too.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

Thought mine was the hub, replaced it, wasn't it. The wiring harness was bad. That was $275 bucks at the dealer.

Thought mine was the hub, the harness, shop told me "no codes" as well. Took it to GM with a TechII and it turned out to be EBCM.

I would guess the ABS Harness. Pick one up at NAPA for like 35 bucks. I replaced mine myself in about 30 minutes. It's connected to the front right wheel hub. Just follow the wires back, and it ends up in about the middle of the radiator. Take the old harness out, and splice the new one in.

And to think, when I took it to the dealer and they told me it was a bad hub, and wanted to charge me 800 bucks for it, I just about did it too. Damn stealership.

    Hey all,

Mine has been doing that to I have a 99 GPGT and out of the blue my ABS & TC off light started coming on. I went to a mechanic buddy of mine and he let me use the scanner the shop had and the scanner told me it was a bad wheel speed sensor which is in the hub assembly. I guess that's what I get for buying cheap parts...(if you can call 80 bucks each cheap for a hub assembly).
If you want to find out more about me or my GPGT click the link below it takes you to my youtube channel.
