So apparently my uncle had a gxp, and is gonna give me his old struts ( they have nothing wrong with them ) and my plan is to send em to bilstein to have them looked over and rebuilt if necessary, still trying to figure out how to do this...I've heard a few people saying it could be done and it would cost about 75$ maybe more maybe less( if anyone has done please feel free to chime in also with how to get in contact with them looked at their website a couple of times, I'm guessing an email would be a rather solid starting point). but I heard the ride height is higher than factory if you don't have the gxp, if I used for say comp g springs would it set back to factory height? Or would I need a little lower yet? I've been doing research on various suspension parts for the past few weeks (maybe you can tell from my posts, *shows I'm a genius in the category*) but insight would be amazing here. No clue what I'm doing with the height, and yes I've looked into it but only seen stuff for 97-03.

just give them a call, they'll tell you what's up.

but yes, they'll do it for $75 a corner.

as far as ride height, that is everything to do with the springs.

    AFAIK, will still raise vehicle.

If you plan on lowering you will want them shortened as well.

AFAIK, perches are too high for anything but a GXP.

To be honest I'm just looking for stock ride height. Sleeper status hopefully . But you lost me on the AFAIK?? This means? And could I just do comp g springs and be solid for ride height? Or would I still have to have bilstein lower them, and would they know the specs to lower them??
    Thank you for the replys!!!

I'm running the aftermarket bilstein (not the GM factory ones) with vogtland springs and I'm at stock ride height.

So you might have to run vogtlands to see stock ride height.

Did you have them shorten your struts? Or was this not needed because you have a different version? And if I did do lowering springs what would the life of the struts be like?

Thank you for all the help Matt and bio.

I didnt bother. I dont plan on lowering.

    I would estimate 40-80 k miles.
