I have a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix. Today the ABS and Trac Control lights came on. I tried shutting off the engine and have them reset. When I started the engine the lights were off. Once I started moving, the lights came on within a quarter of a mile.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

^ what he said...If it's just a hub assembly, your looking at about $150-200 worth or repairs (cost me that much after new hub and tools)

Had the same problem - replaced both hubs one was growling anyway still had intermittant abs/tcs - after closer look found Bubba had spliced the abs wiring in two spots with a twist and tape. I re-did the slpice with solder/heat shrink Lights have been off over a month now.

You can't rule out a bad rear hub either. I've had a rear hub fail and cause the same problem. Best to have somebody scan it with a scanner that will read ABS codes. Standard OBDII scanners will not read ABS codes.
