I'm a new 04 Compg owner. I bought the car 600 miles away and drove it back. I found out the steel belts on 3 tires were showing so I replaced the tires.

Before the tires, I only felt what seemed like bad tire balance at selected speeds. After the tires, there is not suspension movement or shaking like before, but now around 30-40mph I feel a vibration in the floor and especially the gas peddle. The passanger side feels it in the floor too. If I move the steering wheel to the right, the vibration goes away. It is almost similar to being low on P/S fluid, except that outside of the 30-40mph window it never does it again.

I have a feeling this is a magnasteer II issue?

Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting this? I did a search, but if this has been mentioned before I think I lack the right search terms to use since I'm pretty new.

    Thanks!

    Joel

Have you had an alignment done? I was thinking about this due to the old tires having worn the insides out, but I haven't taken it in for an alignment. I am unsure if it needs it as it rides fine and I am unsure if the used car place just swapped the tires with some other car on the lot or not.

I would have the tires re-balanced and checked to make sure there is no defects in any of them and get the allignment done. I had a simmilair problem and since the allignment was done, it has gone away.

I have had an alignment done and all four tires balanced. It helped ALOT. I still feel it a very little bit every so often, but that fixed the problem for the most part.
