So im having issues where I lost my original key on my 04+ gp and I took the key taped to the passlock 3+ in hopes it would start my car but my remote start just wouldn't work anymore. Well now my key is stuck in the ignition and I cant start the car due to a security lock. I have tried everything I can think of as far as security relearn, draining the power, tapping the cyl in hope it just stuck, ect.

Well now my biggest issue is getting the key out of the ignition so I can get a new key made and do the security learn.

On the 04+ there is no manual key release override. So how do these switches work? I assume there is a pin that is sent power to release the key and if I can figure out what pin that is then I can find the wire under the dash and put direct power to it.

Tried a new battery for ****s and giggles no luck. I just dont understand why the key is stuck. Idk if its part of the security lock out or if its due to something else.

Is the little plastic ring with the letters ACC OFF ON START on it installed on the ignition switch?

Finally had time today to sit down clear headed and think about the issue. I had thought that the security lock had nothing to do with the key being stuck from the beginning but wasnt sure. I was then thinking about how the 04+ cars have 2 cables going to the shifter, 1 for the gear select and the other i was unsure. So after taking a look that secondary cable sure enough is for the key release. When i had reinstalled the the shifter i was having a hard time reconnecting the that cable because the little adjuster on it had been pushed down ever so slightly so even though the car was in park and indicated park on the hud, the key release cable was acting as in reverse. A slight adjustment and the key came out and i also got a new key made threw the dealer and a new key fob for dirt cheap. Tonight ill retry a security learn with the new key and hope she starts.
