Hey guys! I have an 05 GT2 non-HUD, and I would like to do the HUD install. I have a great idea of how it's done based on the other threads in this forum, but I have a couple questions. First, I have already bought a new console that has the HUD switch (with the wiring) in it. I see that that just connects to the electrical connector at the front of the console, so that seems easy enough, no extra wiring to do there (?). I have a new HUD dash trim piece on order from the dealer, so I just need the projector. The HUD unit and wiring for it, I have a couple questions. First, will the wiring and connectors for the HUD unit already be in a pigtail under the dash? Or is it just the wiring without connectors? or not at all? or ?
Second, I saw some projectors on ebay (not sure if I will go that route or buy new from the dealer) and it appears that there is just wiring sticking out of the unit, like they just cut it out of the vehicle. If I buy new, will the wiring for the HUD already have a connector? Or will I be pinning up a connector if I go either route? I imagine if there is already a connector on the HUD, and the wiring and connector is already in the vehicle under the dash then it's just plug and play. Seems too simple, but would be great if that's the way it is.
