Most dash cam has auto power on when power is applied and off when power is cut (switches to internal battery for a few seconds). The front dash cam is easy, use add a fuse option and pick something in the fuse panel that doesn't use RAP. But the rear cam doesn't have convenient access to fuse panel and I don't want to run a wire all the way to the front.

Is there a 12v power in the back somewhere that is on only when the key's on?

2005 GP, 3.8, NA, and no compass module in the rear.

    TIA

    Basically, no.

Have you installed an amp? Or have a factory amp? You might be able to pull power from it.

No amp of any kind, it's a former rental car so it only has standard no frill sound system. Guess I'll have to run a wire and tap into the fuse. Is there a guide for running a new wire from the front to the back while keeping it concealed? Like along the top?

get a add a fuse put it in the wiper fuse, its off car off. then pop the door sils off and tuck the wire along the edge of the carpet, take the bottom of the back seat out, then run it at the side of the seats trip to the trunk. takes no time reall.

back seat you grip and rip each side in the middle where you would sit in the back, its just a clip that holds the seat down, put your finger under the edge, pull up.
