On a base 2007 GP what other OEM radio would plug right in? The one the car came with is ok but the LED on the display is half burnt out and depending at what point it will REALLY annoy me I would want to swap it out. The car did not come with steering wheel controls but did have On Star installed after the fact.

    Thanks!

theres a how to for replacing the bulbs in the radio display.

if you do find a used radio you'll need to figure out how to unlock it so it works in your car.

Yes i did find a how to how to replace the bulb. I want to see what OEM radios are compatible for a possible upgrade to a am/fm CD player since If I put in an aftermarket radio that increases the chances of it being stolen. Not too many people are interested in stealing an OEM radio.

that you can do, ( as long as its not a monson radio) the plugs are the same on the back. but you'll have to unlock it. ive seen youtube vids how to do it.

To unlock 04 and newer radios you have to take to a dealer, or someone with a Tech 2 tool, this is the only way to program a radio other than the one that came with the car. Unless of course you go the aftermarket radio route. Then no programming has to be done. The dealer will prolly charge around $100 for this service.

So say a "bowtie" radio that was in a 2007 G5 would work as shown here

search for it on ebay, see if it crosses over as well, and you can see both radio backs and check what the plugs look like.

i was looking for a radio for my friends exploder, its the same radio as 3 or 4 other cars, one being a mustang.

Sorry to hijack here, but does anyone know if this style will plug and play in an older model like my 2004? Or does anyone know if GM made a radio for my 2004 with an auxiliary port? thanks
