I would think it'd be a whole lot easier than my putting in a Pioneer Z150.
Get the factory GPS antenna. IIRC, it's about $100. The factory hiding place was under the defroster grille on the right side. When I installed the Pioneer unit, I mounted the GPS and XM antennas on a plate I had made up and hid it there. The GPS works flawlessly while I think I may be getting a few extra drop offs from the XM side. That leaves nothing on the outside of the car that would invite the bad guys to look inside of my car.
You would have to get your nav unit programmed by a dealer. They'll charge about an hour's labor.
I have a d7 so i can flash it myself, i found the antenna on amazon for 34$ and ordered it last night. I have both connectors the one for the radio and the one or the onstar/motorolla module for the mic line. i think its as simple as just running a lead between the two and i dont have to do any flashing on the module to use the mirror mic, ie the mic is always listening just not being listened to by the system unless prompted.

Just to update this for anyone that wants information. The factory nav headunit drops right in but here are some notes.
All newer gm radios need to be programmed to work.
The microphone/voice command side, i needed the connector ends for the onstar mirror mic to work, they are the white ones that go in the radio with two pink wires and the motorolla/onstar module under the hvac controller with two pink wires and a bare drain wire. I spliced the drain into the drain on the next connector over and its clear as can be. You could wire up a pioneer mic or really any other mic that you like better but i figure i had it already so why not.
The gps side, i used gm antenna 15821030, i got it for under 30$ on amazon, the only problem is the cable isnt long enough to mount it in an ideal location for signal strength so i ordered an HRS GT5 extension cable (thats the connector type for our gps) i got it online for 9$
Add on side, i used the AAI-GM12 from pac audio for a switchable aux input. I changed the switch because it looked like crap to somthing nicer that looks good in our vehicles. More on this in a minute. I used the ISFM2351 from isimple for hands free and streaming bluetooth integration with the radio. The idea is i can switch between a hard wired aux input, xm, and bluetooth wireless music and phone calls at the push of a button with this setup. And it costs less than 125$
Secondary notes i spliced the onstar mirror mic into the isfm2351 so i didnt need a secondary mic from the afore mentioned connector at the back of the motorolla/onstar module.
