I just scored a Harmon Kardon sub woofer from a Saab 9-3. This will fit in the right rear trunk cubby. I Know how to solder well but I have little

knowledge of audio systems and I'm wondering where to wire it up to

I've got a 2003 GTP with Bose and OnStar (OnStar removed). The Amp is stock and I've got a base level Tape player HU (for audio input) from some

    other GP.

    Size: 6.5"
    Impedance: 2 x 2.0 ohm because it's got a dual voice coil
    Amplifier power: 2 x 22W
    Frequency range: sub-bass

I Have an aftermarket 1 din Head unit (I forget specs) if I have to use that and if I have to install an aftermarket Amp that's ok too. All

Aftermarket parts should be HQ and aiming cor clarity not power/loudness. I am aware of the gmos-04 radio adapter that may be necessary.

    Any help?

I plan on tapping into the 6X9s I guess and then run that through a crossover to the sub.
Is this the best way to run this sub with minimal extra equipment?

Ehhh... that'd work. You would use a line output converter.... not a crossover. Small in-line capacitors can be used as high pass or low pass filters, although an aftermarket amplifier with even a rudimentary LPF will mitigate the need for those. You could use some on your interior speakers to help filter some bass out without turning down the setting, which would effect your sub. This is assuming you want to keep the stock headunit. Honestly though, go ahead and install an aftermarket amplifier... it'll give you more options once you get tired of the output of that sub (I'm betting that you will). Honestly, with your tendency to prefer quality over volume, a single sealed 12 would do wonders. I'm partial to Obsidian Audio subs for awesome sealed performance. If you wish to spend a bit more, check out the TC epic subs on parts express. Of course, the sky's the limit here. I bet that a single Obsidian 12 in 1.5 cube sealed enclosure on 500 rms or so would blend very well (with proper tuning), as well as getting a little rowdy for your frisky times. Whatever you decide to do, best of luck to ya.

One still slow and loud... other one scoots just a bit.
