Make sure it's plugged in all the way and your Bluetooth is on. It recommends GPS on as well.

im trying to connect to it with my bluetooth. Is there a way to connect threw the torque app itself or do i have to connect threw my phone then threw torque once its connected

    i have a nexus s 4g

like i can see it when i scan bluetooth devices, it says obd II, but when i try to connect it asks for 4 digit code and ive tried everything people say to use

Yeah, that's the same one I ordered n it was 6789 to connect it. Plug it in, turn on Bluetooth and pair it, n then 6789 was my code, just try all the numbers above. Idk why it wouldn't connect unless its just defected.

from what im reading that most likly the case things have a like 1/3 chance of actually working so you got lucky

do you turn your car on befor or after you try to connect it?

I've done it with both, but at first I did it off. There are LEDs on the elm, get down under n look up n make sure them are lighting up as you plug it in. N also I had to like really plug it in there. Idk if there's a button that snaps in place but mines hard to get out too. So make sure it's in all the way.

Oh yeah, it was showing to pair it..try the disk it came with, i read a review it might tell you some codes in there or how to do it. Also type "how to pair torque app with elm 327" in google and read some reviews.

Yep that could be it, I forgot you need to set everything up in torque as well. Idk if it'd just read tho thru the ob2 n just read what he's not seeing tho? Does it really matter you think? I haven't been playing with mine too much, nor do I understand too much about scanning either. Just set it up n read a few pulls for kr n compared to others readings myself.

well just thought maybe?? not sure what they do when they dont do what they are supposed to do.. Sounds like you got punked by Amazon. I ordered BAFX Products (TM) - ELM 327 Bluetooth OBD2 scan tool - For check engine light and other diagnostics - Android compatible : Amazon.com : Automotive cuz it had little bit better reviews...I'ld exchange it

How long ago did you order it? Check your account, they have it set up to print return labels and invoice bar code. You'll see. I just ordered some DCs and had to send them back. Got em WED , printed label ordered different pair, got em FRI and handed the return shoes to UPS. Actually saved 43 cents on second pair, wow.

    The BAFX elm327 worked flawlessly
