Hello, new to the board, sorry if this has been discussed time after time by some of you who have been members for far longer than I have.
My wife is who owns the Grand Prix, and she wants to get an aftermarket headunit in her car.
She has an 05 without the monsoon system.
Even with the interface adapter crutchfield says she will still lose her calendar in her car.
Is there any way to still retain that calendar?
If not then does anyone have any pics of the D.I.C. display after the install and no calendar function anymore?
Trying to give her all the info, and curious if the calendar is just gone completely from her D.I.C. or does it show something like 01/01/01 all the time.

For her losing the calendar seems like its probably gonna be a deal breaker, but im hoping she changes her mind, as i have a nearly brand new Fosgate Amp and Sub that will be un-used after christmas when i upgrade my system in my Ram again.

    Thanks for you help people.

    Stan

Switching to any aftermarket feature will lose the calendar feature on the dic. However most aftermarket headunits will displays the time and date. I don't have a picture of how the dic looks without the calendar feature buts its basically ---- that will display. Personally it's a good trade off aftermarkets system as far more supreme then the stock headunits.

red i couldnt agree with you more, im hoping i can talk her into this, i know she would love it being able to plug in ipod or phone and listen to pandora, not to mention the sound quality would be improved and it would allow me to add her a sub in the trunk.
i guess its all up to her in the end, cause i know what my choice would be

probably a dumb question, but does the clock still work, and only the calendar is non-functional, or does she lose both?

If I remember correctly the DIC only displays the calendar and the clock feature was apart of the stock headunit. It's been 4 years since I used the stock radio so pardon my memory lol I always have my cell phone as well as if I needed to I can check the time/date on the aftermarket unit so it was never a issue for me.

No problem any other questions just post. Crutchfield is helpful is some ways but not always 100% positive seems like a lot of their answers are based off the information they have available which probably isn't to in depth.

Once you figure out what you like check out sonicelectronix.com majority of their stuff is cheaper then Crutchfield I've used them to order my last 3 headunits and speakers. No problems what so ever and they even have a eBay store which sometimes you'll find things cheaper then what's listed on the website.

yeah i love sonicelectronix more than crutchfield, but in her case its actually gonna come out cheaper since the interface adapter is 50% off when you buy a head unit so in the end, the head unit costs more through crutchfeild, but ill be saving so much on the adapter that it works out for crutchfield this time.

but all my stuff in my Ram (complete Alpine system) will all be through sonic electronix.
