You guys have any suggestions for a door speaker upgrade? I have Polk Audio DXI650's in there right now. One of them blew this morning. So I want to upgrade. Maybe get components? I'm thinking my budget isn't too much over 140 bucks.

    I was thinking about these:

Polk Audio db6501 6.5" 2-way Component Car Speakers System (db 6501)

    Thanks for your suggestions.

I have these in my GP Massive Audio CK6V 6.5" 2-Way Stage V Component Car Speaker System ...the highs are a tad bright but I dial them down with the deck. Otherwise, I can't get them to distort under even extremely high volume. I have them amped with a JL 300/4.

op, are you planning on amping those? first set of speakers i installed in the gp, i was not really impressed with the performance until i amped them. Makes a world of difference.

we had a local audio shop buy amps and speakers from sonic and the ones they got from their dist. and tore them apart and had them on display.......now is everything refurbed prolly not but it was thier point to beware. Is refurb bad?....NO not if its done by an authurized repair shop, but why pay close to new for a refurb

I won't hesitate to buy from the again in the future their pricing is the best I've found and had no issues out of the 3 pair of speakers/subs/amp I've purchased from them.

I actually ended up keeping the holders and modifying the door panel be enlarging the stock speaker hole and using the grill that came with the set to cover the seams. Had to hear up the grill so it would conform to the door panel but turned out well.
