    Pretty slick, beats running a wire up around the windshield pillar trim. Be sure when you mount the detector that it's below the tint band on the windshield for maximum reception and sensitivity. Additional issue if you have a Valentine, be sure you mount it low enough so it can see out the back window too.

    The BlendMount is a fixed mount, but puts the detector in the ideal spot; right below the mirror. The 8500 has rear detection, and is not hindered at all being mounted this way.
