Anyone have any suggestions for a double DIN? I'm really liking these touch screen things. I don't know if I really need satellite and HD radio... does anyone have units with either? Do you use them? I feel like I might if I had it, but I'm not sure if the price is right for me.

Anyway, This is the one I was considering purchasing: Amazon.com: Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD Multimedia DVD Receiver: Car Electronics
I have steering wheel controls and a remote start so would I need anything extra to make this baby work?

If you have any suggestions or advice to steer me in one way or another I'd love to hear it! Thanks a lot.

I own a 2000 car and dont do audio stuff, but if you havent already, just do some trolling and most of you questions can be answered.

I do know that you will need a adapter harness to retain your steering wheel controls.

I'd like to spend no more than $200 if possible. I did do some searching and I know I have to get at least a harness and another for the wheel controls so I'm sure that'll put me near $300.

I got the 2300 Pioneer DVD double din and absolutely love it. The only thing that I have found out that I don't like about it that it takes a little bit longer than most to switch between songs on a CD but other than that its a AWESOME head unit.

Okay so I researched and I'm picking either Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD DVD receiver at Crutchfield.com or Sony XAV-63 DVD receiver at Crutchfield.com.
The issue now is figuring out which harness to get - If I just get http://www.amazon.com/Metra-ASWC-Uni...dp/B0039H2W66/ will I be good to go? Crutchfield is saying I need to spend another $50-$125 on a special harness that will keep my factory door chimes... but what are those exactly? Do I need door chimes really? And why do I need this special adapter harness thing?

Here's the antenna adapter I was gonna get: http://www.amazon.com/Metra-40-GM10-...dp/B0002BEQN4/

Crutchfield is really scaring me here, they say on their website if I don't get these expensive extra components that I risk "serious injury or death" !

I'm getting the Kenwood DDX419 installed next week as well as Fosgate 12" sub and amp. I wanted the bluetooth and the Pandora feature is pretty cool.

Kenwood - DDX419

Another one I looked at is the Pioneer P3400BH

AVH-P3400BH - NEW! - 2-DIN Multimedia DVD Receiver with 5.8" Widescreen Touch Panel Display, Built-In Bluetooth®, and HD Radio™ Tuner | Pioneer Electronics USA

Both can be had for under $400. According to my installer I needed a new harness as well as the PAC steering wheel control box to retain all of the factory controls as well as OnStar.
