Im trying to replace my factory system in my 98 GT Coupe.

Does anyone have any info on the factory system in my car?

Speaker count, Factory amp, Speaker size, etc, etc.

Also, I was wondering if anyone had any tested swaps with head units, aftermarket door, deck, and dash speakers,(tweeters as well), Subwoofers and such?

Some info on enclosure sizes for subs, Maybe some mod info for extra tweeters and mids?

I know its alot of questions but I like to do things right.

As far as stock specs, rear has 2 6x9, doors each have a 5.25" speaker i believe and then a tweeter up top. Not sure 98's had bose, and if they did, most don't. Mine doesn't.

As far as aftermarket goes, it's like any car, if it fits it works. Only other size concern in trunk space for subs. Depending how you play it out, with a custom box you can fit an 18", though I'd personally stick with 12"s. Again, with some custom work you should be able to pull off 2 15"s, but not side by side in a cube box. Custom.

Just do what makes you happy.

No Bose. I have the door speakers, the tweeter on each side above them and the rear deck.

I was just wondering what setups you guys are using in your cars.

I've been doing car audio for a long time and Normally I'm a pioneer guy when it comes to head units and door speakers. But I have had cars where airflow was a problem and some speakers just dont sound as good as they should.

I have found a few products that I like, I was really just needing the stock specs on speaker sizes. even though most online stores say this product will fit or that product wont. I've learned to trust my own judgement over theirs.

I think I speak for all of us when I say it's more than just a headache when you order something and it just wont work.

Can anyone recommend a website or company that makes custom boxes?

Normally I would spend the time doing my own. But the holiday's are slammin' me with overtime.

I'd honestly find a friend that makes boxes, that way they can build one based on your car, and face-to-face communication and such.

I can't give you any tips on speakers, someone should be giving me some recommendations since I really need new ones.

I'm running a couple entry level kickers and they sound good, but I need a new amp for them.

I use a lot of kicker products. For a good price you get good quality from them imo. I've never had a problem with anything that had their name on it.

I just got rid of a pair of cvr's so I can get something new. I think I'm going to end up ordering a couple fi's.
