Are you talking about replacing factory speakers or adding speakers(subs)?

Do you want to run them off the deck or a seperate amp?

Honestly i've never been a fan of Pioneer or Kenwood so i'm kind of biased. But either way those Pioneer speakers are gonna need WAY more power than what that deck can supply. It's going to clip the signal, distort the sound, and ruin the speaker in the long run.

However the Kenwood speakers you linked are a MUCH better pair for the deck in terms of power rating.

Go with an alpine deck... I use to run my mids/highs of the deck until I heard a set ran by an seperate amp!

So if the deck is running 22w rms, i should get speakers with a close rms rating to that?

Op, just get some decent brand mids/highs... Should also consider upgrading to a seperate amp for them later....

Gah my post didn't show up..lets try this again...

    First off I LOVE Alpine
Tan and black, bad things just happened...
Nice GXP speedo too...get some chrome vent rings

And 728, yes you want to match the speakers as best as you can. This is going to be difficult becuase most companies make speakers designed to handle their amps they sell. So finding a speaker rated that low is going to be difficult. And honestly...an external amp setup will prob sound better and be quite a bit louder anyway.

I had Alpine speakers and headunit in my last truck. The speakers were nice, the headunit started to lose connection after a while.

In my GP I run a double din JVC touchscreen with JL Evolution TR speakers all around the car with 2 JL 10w0's, it sounds very nice and clean.

    Personal Recomendation?

Alpine KTP-445 Power Pack Upgrade your Alpine receiver to 45 watts RMS x 4 at Crutchfield.com

that says it only pairs with alpine decks, but most techs can wire it for almost any HU, that powers door speakers like a champ without the hassle of most external amps.

which speakers you use is up to you, it all comes down to what you like, head to best buy, or if you can, your local Car audio store and have a listen.
