You should be able to have a reliable and mildly powerful system meeting your goals on your budget.

IMO i've owned a Sony HU before they arn't bad but its the same quality as a stock HU, thats just IMO.
There's alot better head units that can be had for less price, heres the website i have been buying off of for a few years: http://www.sonicelectronix.com
what i would get with the 180 you plan on spending on a sony:

regardless on HU you will need this for the steering wheel controls:
